Forgiveness is a Must...

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

How can we choose to hold forgiveness back from others, when God gives forgiveness to us when we ask? No matter what we've done, God forgives us. As believers, we must forgive. We must always focus on what God can do, not the hurt.

Most people have an issue with forgiveness. Ever wonder why? It's mostly because we tend replay the issue in our minds more than we seek Jesus to help us. We lean to our understanding more than we depend on the Lord direct our path. We also seek other people's opinions instead of seeking God first. (Matthew 6:33)

Meditate on Colossians 3. Paul told the Colossians and reminds us today that part of putting on our “new self” (Col. 3:8-9) is forgiving one another. Jesus loves and forgives us, so believers must do the same and not “grieve”(Eph 4:20) the Holy Spirit.

*When you refuse to forgive, you burn a bridge you need to cross. You block God’s operation in your life. Forgiveness doesn’t mean approving sin, but releases people from their wrongs against you, and you heal in the process.

(*Study from Tony Evans Bible Commentary)

Jesus forgave us on the cross, and He is still willing to forgive us anytime we ask.

Don’t delay, pray and ask The Lord to help you forgive others today.

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
