God desires for all His children to be saved. (Study 1 Timothy 2:1,4,6)
Saved from what? Good question. We have to go back to Genesis (the beginning) to fully understand why we need to be saved.
If you are living in this world, you have witnessed or experienced darkness. We have an enemy named Satan (Lucifer) and he has a huge beef with God. He was once an angel, but thought he could have God's position. One major flaw in his evil plan was underestimating the power of The Almighty God. Satan even tried to start a war in Heaven, but lost. Christians are his ultimate target since his purpose is to separate us from Our Father. His goal is to set traps of doubt, lies, impure thoughts and watch us fall for his bait. He is known as the Father of lies for a reason. He's very skilled at deceiving us and keeping us distracted. But he is already defeated and his days are numbered.
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (Revelations 20:14)
God made provision for us to be saved from darkness. From the time sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden, we had been in deep trouble. So deep, there didn't seem to be a way out; until our Father made a way for us to be reconciled back with Him...He sent His Son, Jesus Christ. Now we have Hope. All that seek Him can be saved, all He asks is that we believe.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
